This is one of our favorite window cleaners. It does not use any harsh chemicals and leaves your windows clean and streak free.

  • 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
  • 10 drops of lemon essential oil
Put these ingredients in a spray bottle and use a microfiber cloth and viola  you not only have a great nature friendly window cleaner but you are also saving on not having to use paper towels and your spray bottle can be used over and over again.  This is not only great for the environment but great for  your wallet too.

The Best Way to Clean Your Microwave

If you have a teenager like mine, that is in too much of a hurry to cover his food before microwaving it, then you know what a dirty microwave is. The dried on food that is so hard to remove. Don't spray harmful chemicals in that microwave! In fact don't spray anything at all in the microwave. All you need is water, yep water. Fill a coffee cup with water. Put this in the microwave for 2 minutes (give or take a few seconds depending on the wattage of your microwave. ) and then simply use a damp cloth to wipe away any mess. The steam from the heated water will soften any debris, making cleaning that microwave a breeze!

Meet Charlie, what does Charlie have to do with natural cleaning. Well although not natural it was a solution that really helped Charlie without exposing him to harsh chemicals.
We rescued Charlie from the dumpsters located in our community. He was so tiny, and scrawny. He was starving, and covered in fleas. We took him to the vet, who had some great advice for us. The vet suggested giving Charlie a bath using Dawn dish detergent to get rid of the fleas instead of trying to use something like Frontline on such a tiny little kitten. As you can see we did.

The first bath did get rid of most of the fleas, I was surprised, these little buggers can be so resilient! We gave Charlie two more baths over the next several days and that seemed to do it! Charlie is doing quite well and does appear to be flea free. As a precaution we also sprinkled baking soda on the one area rug we have, to kill flea eggs that might have ended up there.
